We have several very cute, soft, fluffy and gentle bunnies, also known as rabbits, at the farm. We have bunnies since 2019. They are the most popular animals among children, especially toddlers. They are so adorable when they munch carrots or lettuce, or move their long ears, or when they stand on their back legs!
What do they eat?
In the summer, their favorite food is greens like weeds, grasses, and clovers. They also like sunchoke leaves, cabbage, lettuce, broccoli and carrots from our garden. During winter we feed them hay, special pellets and a variety of fruits and veggies.
Where do they stay?
In the summer, they stay outside, in the mobile chicken coops similar to our young chickens. In the winter, we relocate them to the designated area in the duck barn.
How do they behave?
Well, it depends on the bunny. Some of them like Tux and Daisy, are super social, and love being pet all the time! They are not even afraid of our dog Ava. Others like Hazel are more shy, and prefer to hide in a corner. Some of them, e.g. Peaches, are very active and fast, moving around all the time, when others like our huge bunny Hugo and slow & even lazy.
