About Us
PACE Farm is a family-run farm located in Île-Bizard, on the island of Montreal, offering outdoor farm experiences and animal encounters for children, families, schools, and daycares. Rooted in permaculture values, the farm provides calm, hands-on activities that help kids and adults reconnect with animals and nature.
PACE stands for Permaculture, Art, Community, and Education — values that have guided the farm since its founding.
PACE Farm was founded in January 2014 by Edward Privorotsky, a former programmer who chose to step away from screen-based work and pursue a more nature-connected way of life. What began as a small vermicomposting project gradually evolved into a permaculture-based farm focused on sustainability, learning, and community.
The early years involved experimentation and growth. Chickens were introduced in 2015, followed by ducks, goats, and sheep in 2017. Rabbits were added in 2018, followed by Muscovy ducks in 2020, alpacas in 2021, and two miniature horses along with a zebu cow in 2022. Most animals live free-range lives, while others are housed in mobile enclosures that offer protection and daily access to fresh grass.
Over time, PACE Farm became a family business, led by Edward and his wife Faina (Faya). Their eldest daughter, Marina, piloted the first Interactive Farm Tours in 2018, which were later fully developed and launched to the public. As of 2018, the farm welcomed visitors interested in outdoor activities for kids. In 2021, their daughter Lina joined the project, contributing her artistic talents and helping manage the farm’s creative and community outreach. Today, family members remain actively involved in welcoming visitors and guiding tours.
In 2021, PACE Farm introduced its Mobile Farm service, bringing farm animals to daycares, birthday parties, and special events across Montreal and the West Island. This made it possible for families and organizations to enjoy a farm experience even when they cannot visit the farm itself.
Community involvement remains central to life at PACE Farm. The farm regularly hosts volunteer days and welcomes groups of children with special needs, offering gentle, sensory-rich experiences where participants can learn about animals and reconnect with nature in a supportive setting.
Through years of hands-on work, learning, and collaboration with nature, PACE Farm has grown into a place where families can slow down, explore the outdoors, and experience a more harmonious relationship with the Earth.
